A new TASTE to the city of Toronto

One of Toronto’s favorite brunch restaurants has been renamed and updated, but its significant pleasures remain.

The former Sophie’s Kitchen, now known as Tiarré’s Brunch ‘N Cakes, is still a bright and friendly space with a selection of stunning brunch favorites.

Anotha Thamesh and her husband Tam Thiyaga are the owners of Ancaster food prep company Set The Table Kitchen & Co. They have years of hospitality expertise.
They’re now spreading out and trying to cater to a community with breakfast, high tea, and other offerings.

“We took over at the beginning of July,” Thamesh says, explaining that the previous owners were looking for buyers who were interested in continuing the work they started.

“Tiarré is a French Polynesian name,” Thamesh explains. “It’s a flower from Tahiti.” It just so happens to be a name with a “French accent.” “It makes me think of Paris, cafés, and high-end pastries,” she adds.

As a result, the team intends to increase the present menu and provide diners more beautiful selections throughout the day.

“We have this lovely room. It’s a nice café-style restaurant that’s perfect for brunch. But we also want to use that space in the afternoon,” Thamesh adds.

The facility, which can seat 40 people inside and 15 on the terrace (which the owners are having winterized), will soon be the place to go for breakfast, as well as a new high tea menu and cocktails and wine in the evenings.
